Waren Sie schon mal in Barcelona?

Holiday in Spain - with a difference [Jul. 9th, 2007|09:08 am]

Ok, ok, it is not a new concept.  In the past 30 years, millions of people have chosen to travel to Spain for the guaranteed sun, beach and relaxing atmosphere. Mallorca, the Costa del Sol and Ibiza are amongst the favourites – all perfectly equipped for the summer influx of tourists.

But, have you ever considered travelling a little further into Spain – perhaps a Northern city such as Santander – where you can find white sand beaches - or inland Spain - Cordoba erhaps?

Whatever you choose, you should be assured that the relaxing atmosphere of your past holidays and preschool education will still be present on these new ones.  What may be different is that you see a little more than beaches, souvenir shops and discotheques.  You may also find it a little more demanding than in the usual destinations with regard to the language barrier.  Not that this has to be an issue.  You can easily remedy the situation by taking on a Spanish class.

Germany attached great importance to honesty [Jul. 9th, 2007|08:53 am]

Germany often emphasize on honesty, you can not say "yes" if there is "no", otherwise, everything is turned out worse. There is a big problem: examine the qualifications to study in German. There are some students to study to German with false educational certification, there is something wrong with the students as well as agencies. The actual age of some students is less than 18-year-old, who have had diploma. Although these students live in Germany, they do not have certification which is authorized by German embassy in China. They also do not dare to come back to check, since the students who do not have the examine proof are not allowed to enter into the German free public universities, those worry about for this all day and foreign travel. So it is advertisement that those who do not have true certification cancel going to German plan.

Studying at Universidad de Salamanca [Jul. 9th, 2007|08:41 am]
I’M the son of the London ambassador to Spain. As such, I was enticed to travel to salamanca and study Spanish courses and perhaps distinguish the Castilian from the Spanish language. When I browsed online, I noted a university not from Madrid or Barcelona but from another province called Salamanca which is kinda old and historic that I was curious about the place. It was called Universidad de Salamanca. When I told my dad about it, he was pretty excited too that I’m interested to learn Spanish courses. He told me that Universidad de Salamanca is one of the best universities in Spain and perhaps I can learn a thing or two from here even though I’m just gonna be studying for a couple of semesters. He says being a student of the world is so exciting because you’ll learn lots of information from other places. You’ll also be learning the varied cultures and you’ll learn how to tolerate other races. He says that learning other cultures spawns respect and respect spawns peace. I like to be a diplomat like my dad.

Touring Barcelona [Jul. 9th, 2007|08:23 am]
One of the best ways to see Barcelona or any city in Spain, is to go on a guided tour. Barcelona has a rich history and culture, and a tour guide can help give a dimension and depth to your understanding of the sites that you can’t glean from the brochures or even the website. After all, many of these tour guides have spent years studying those attractions. They are in one of the best positions to really explain each feature and answer your many questions about it.

Spanish Seafood [Jul. 9th, 2007|08:21 am]
SPANISH cuisine consists mostly of seafood because it is surrounded with the Mediterranean Sea. Other influences that have inspired Spanish cuisine is its Moorish connections thus delicious lamb-based food abound although one important fact remains – Spaniards always use olive oil in sautéing food. Olive oil is the healthiest cooking oil known to man and the Spaniards have one of the longest life expectancies in the planet. Also note that the Spaniards hate frozen fish. Seafood served in the restaurants are really fresh ones plucked from the Mediterranean sea and directly into the restaurants’ kitchens to be cooked in various forms. I’ll now mention to you some of the dishes and how they are cooked.

Enjoying the Largest Island in Spain [Jul. 9th, 2007|08:16 am]
WHEN I decided to have a vacation in Spain a month back alone, the first place that popped into my mind was Mallorca. You see, Mallorca is the largest island in Spain and I’m really craving to go there. Madrid and Barcelona are downright boring already, what with the all the bullfights, the cathedrals, even the girls and everything else in between. I want go somewhere exotic. Ibiza and all its naked girls in their naturist beaches is okay but what I want is to go somewhere which has not exactly been exploited yet. I want to be in a place where I can be myself without any inhibition that huge crowds will crash in on you and disturb you. Mallorca is destined to be that place.
